HTC Releases Source Code for Desire Z, Incredible S, and the Flyer Tablet

Lately HTC has been getting some more grief from the development and Facebook communities and another campaign was recently launched demanding they release the source code for many of their popular devices. The main ones being asked for in this online stampede over on Facebook were for newer devices like the EVO 3D or the Sensation and even the EVO 4G just to name a few but that didn't happen. Instead HTC released the source code for a few other not as popular devices to at least show progress.

Breaking: HTC Unlocking Bootloaders Come August and September

This evening HTC just came out with some breaking and exciting news we have all been patiently waiting for (well most of us patiently), and that news is some official remarks regarding the timeline for unlocking the bootloader on HTC phones. I can't wait for some CM7 on my Sensation because that is what's coming next for mine. HTC plans to unlock their newest phones first, read on past the break for the full details.

HTC EVO 3D Whiteout Instructions

So you've got a brand new HTC EVO 3D in your sights, but you're thinking you want to take a trip down the color-based new world of Android casings that's exploding all over the landscape these days. What will you do? Here's what a fellow by the name of Zoidpilot over on XDA Developers did - simple and not at all destructive, right? Wrong! But you can't make an EVO omelet without breaking a few cases, right? Also you'll need Pop Tarts, but we'll get to that later.

HTC EVO 3D and Sensation Overclocked to 1.7 Ghz

Did any of you guys see this coming? I did but not this soon as the EVO 3D and Sensation 4G are still locked down. No kernel source has been released and the bootloaders are still locked tight for the time being. The man behind the photo you see below is Michael Huang who is the developer behind setCPU, you can follow him on twitter at @coolbho3k. Following him on Twitter he has just teased all of you proud EVO 3D and Sensation owners showing you what is coming soon.

HTC EVO 3D and Sensation 4G Temp-Root Available

Those developers over at XDA and other popular development communities are at it again working hard to bring us the things we need, things like temp-root for the HTC EVO 3D and the Sensation 4G. Earlier the group TeamWin found an exploit and were able to achieve root access. Now those nice guys are letting everyone else join in on the fun while they keep working.

TeamWin Finds EVO 3D Exploit, Root May Be Coming Soon

You may not know who TeamWin is but they are the guys that brought things like WIMAX and HDMI Mirror to CM7 for the EVO. They are hard at work but they have families and jobs just like the rest of us and this will take time. According to a few tweets along with an already huge thread over at XDA they have found an exploit in the kernel used on the HTC EVO 3D and are looking good for root access in the coming days.

Netflix will work on new Evo 3D with a little work

I know that there were a bunch of Android fans out there that were waiting impatiently for Netflix to finally launch its app for Android users. Once the app hit it was welcomed, but as some found out the app only supported a limited number of handsets leaving a bunch of Android users without streaming TV and videos. If you picked up the new HTC Evo 3D, you were one of the users without official support.

HTC Staying True on Their Word, Working Hard to Allow Bootloader Unlocks

I know HTC and the bootloader issue has been in the news off and on as of late, but it seems lately they have been answering more tweets and Facebook posts regarding the issue. Just this morning we noticed three responses all regarding bootloaders in a row on Twitter, and even a few on Facebook as well. At least HTC is actually updating the public and giving us hope that this change is coming soon.

HTC Taiwanese Recruitment Video Reveals Glimpse of Future Devices

It's always enjoyable to see new devices, especially when they've got a chance at running Android, and ESPECIALLY when they pop up out of nowhere when you least expect them. Today we happened upon some drawings being done over in Taiwan by the HTC crew rolling out a recruitment video attempting to grab some new minds for one of their ideation centers. This video comes straight from HTC, so we can't imagine that the images you see below are TOO secret, but they're fun to glimpse at nonetheless.
