HP TouchPad Android Ports Already Under Way

I must say for $99 crisp dollar bills, the HP TouchPad rocking Android would be a pretty awesome deal. That would be a great price for a tablet and once we get some Honeycomb or Ice Cream Sandwich running on it everyone will be glad they snagged one for $99 dollars. After HP discontinued the TouchPad it went on a firesale and is now in the bargain bin. The specs compare to that of the HTC Sensation with that 1.2 Ghz dual-core Qualcomm processor, but with a 9.7" 1024x768 IPS display. All that running Android sounds like something I'd be okay with.

HP to deliver Print services to Android

HP has announced the release of wireless printing software for Android which will enable users to wirelessly print to corporate network printers. The concept, known as "ePrint Services" is designed to make the Android platform more appealing to corporations who are looking to incorporate an employees personal smartphone into the IT structure. Employees will be able to print emails, documents and even presentations to printers that employ HPs Internet printing service. The new app competes directly with iOS AirPrint and Google's Cloud Print technologies, which HP says aren't secure enough for corporate IT networks.

Study: More Tablets, less trees

As HP moves to position their TouchPad tablet into the marketplace with wireless printing, they are also seeing that a tablet's ability to view and edit documents easily is making the demand for printing material drop pretty rapidly. And a Morgan Stanley study reflects that with the expectation that printer supplies revenue will drop by as much as 5 percent annually by 2012. That's certainly good news for the environment and bad news for printer companies.

Behold an apples to apples (aka no Apple) tablet matchup!

HP Zeen Tablet Featuring Android to Launch This September

Despite the fact that HP acquired Palm (the house that built webOS), it looks like HP's first tablet is actually going to be powered by our favorite little green android. The tablet is called the Zeen, and it's not a self-sustaining machine like many of the other tablets out there. It's meant, actually, to be a companion device to HP's upcoming "Zeus" printer, and act more as an interface unit than anything else. But, it's still running Android, so that's got our interest.

Droid Incredible Has Been Rooted

One of the best things about owning an Android device is the ability to gain root access. Sometimes this is an easy process and other times it’s very hard. The Droid Incredible has been a tough nut to crack despite the fact that it is an HTC device and there are many great hackers in the developer community that primary work on modding HTC devices. Finally, the Droid Incredible has been rooted.
