Boingo subscribers given access to AT&T WiFi hotspot locations
Boingo and AT&T have announced their latest partnership offering. And nicely done, this one brings good news for current Boingo customers as well as select AT&T customers. Simply put, Boingo subscribers and those select AT&T subscribers will each have additional WiFi hotspot locations they can use while out and about or while traveling.

AT&T roaming agreement brings free Wi-Fi for UK travelers
We are used to seeing expansion announcements from the carriers. In fact, it was earlier this month when AT&T detailed their latest 4G LTE expansion plans. As of today though, we have word of coverage for AT&T customers that happen to be visiting the UK. The one catch, we are talking Wi-Fi hotspot coverage as opposed to cellular.

AT&T Launching 4G LTE Devices Next Week, Just Not Phones
You'd be correct if you were wondering if AT&T had launched their 4G LTE network yet and thought to yourself, no they haven't. That is because so far they've only been testing a few small areas and networks but nothing official has been launched. Next week AT&T will be launching their first 4G LTE devices and don't get too excited because they aren't smartphones or tablets, but we will however be seeing a 4G LTE mobile hotspot and a USB Modem coming on August 21st.

DROID Pro Commercial from 2004?
Wait, what? That doesn't make any sense. But why else would this commercial be using a parodied version of the song "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls? This BRAND NEW commercial posted by ShareMoto on YouTube just this past Friday (in the year 2010) touts the new DROID PRO by Motorola as a work phone you can take home, too. Sassy and sexy! They say it features Corporate Email, it's Built for Google Apps, and has a 1GHz processor, Global Connectivity (In Over 200 Countries), Personal Hotspot, Adobe Flash Player, and access to Android Market.

Verizon DROID Incredible 720p HD recording & 3G hotspot incoming?
Looks like the Verizon DROID Incredible isn't quite ready to be overshadowed by the incoming DROID X.  Over at AndroidForums, a user with a test Incredible has supposedly spotted a firmware update that adds 720p HD video recording and 3G WiFi hotspot functionality to the HTC-made smartphone. That certainly isn't available on the DROID Incredible presently, and HTC have been tight-lipped about the potential for their inclusion when asked previously.  No word on when - or indeed even if - the new firmware will get rolled out to general users.

Qik, Premium Features Outlined for the EVO
Not too long ago we found out Qik would be charging for “premium features”. This was an additional fee of $4.99 a month. Couple this fee with the 4G and hotspot fee and the EVO was becoming quite an expensive device to own. The good thing is this fee wasn’t mandatory, it just unlocked access to those unnamed premium features.

HTC EVO 4G Pass Through the FCC, WiMAX and all
The FCC filing for HTC model PC36100 is rumored to be none other than the HTC EVO 4G. This device passed through with 2500MHz band alongside the standard set of CDMA bands with EV-DO. So unless HTC has another 4G device headed to Sprint or Clearwire (which is possible), this has to be the EVO.

Boingo Wireless app available for Android
3G connectivity for smartphones is great; the reality of a connection that promises mobile broadband speeds is that often the connection speed isn't nearly as fast as the user desires. Thankfully, most high-end phones offer Wi-Fi connectivity as well if the 3G connection is too slow. Boingo Wireless operates the world's largest collection of Wi-Fi hotspots. The company announced today that it is now offering its hotspot finder and connection manager for Android-based smartphones. The application is available for all handsets running Android.
