Archos has officially announced the Archos 7 Android tablet today. This tablet has a 7 inch touch screen and is built to be a great multimedia/web browsing device. You can now preorder it from Amazon for $199. It comes preloaded with a custom version of Android 1.6.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Android 2.1 update promised for Q4 2010
Sony Ericsson has confirmed that their XPERIA X10 series, which includes the X10, XPERIA X10 mini and X10 mini pro, will receive an upgrade to Android 2.1. This update won’t happen until Q4 later this year. This update will add HD video recording to the X10 as well as other media-centric tweaks.

Aigo has two new Android MIDs in the works
A Chinese manufacturer by the name of Aigo has two Android MID’s in the making. The new tablets will come in a 5 and 7 inch version. Both will be running Android 1.6, there is no word on when or if these devices will be upgraded to Android 2.1.  Price is rumored to be around 1500 Yuan which is roughly $220 and will be released in May.

Everyone is getting some Android 2.1 love these days. The SmartQ V5 and V7 MIDs from SmartDevices will receive an update to Android 2.1. This updated will bring live wallpapers, 3D acceleration, a new UI and improved Bluetooth capabilities. The only thing missing will be multi-touch, their resistive screens is the reason for the omission of this feature.

Given the natural progression of mobile technology, this could possibly happen sometime in the near future. Phonereport.info is reporting that HTC has an Android tablet in the making that will have full 1080p recording capabilities as well as 5.1 surround sound. And some of these features will make their way onto some of their handsets next year.
