HTC Upcoming Android Based Tablet Expected to Run Tegra 2

Rumors of an HTC tablet are continue to hit the net, regardless of HTC’s stance on their development of a tablet device. This new tablet is going to be one of the most impressive tablets hardware wise we will see for a while, if released. The mysterious device is said to be housing a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and a capacitive multi-touch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 (720p). All of this coming at a hefty price, around $790.

5 New Android Tablets from Archos, even a $100 unit

Archos has always been a major contender in the media player and tablet market, even before the iPad hit shelves. Looking to re-establish themselves as an industry powerhouse they have released not one, but 5 new tablets running Google’s Android platform. They even have a device that starts just under a hundred bucks.

RockPlayerBase player, AVI, MKV, DIVX and RMVB for Android

Since Android was introduced, there have been many complaints about its lack of .avi and .divx playback. Since then there has been a few phones with .divx capabilities but there still was no player for the rest of us. The RockPlayerBase allows any Android 2.1 handset to playback XviD, DivX, Mkv and even RMVB files. .

Samsung Galaxy Beam: world’s first Android projector phone

Projector phones were supposed to be “the next big thing” in the evolution of cell phones. So far, that hasn’t been the case, there was a non-Android based projector phone released here in the US recently. Needless to say it didn’t do so well as far as sales goes. I personally haven’t seen one in the wild since it was released. Can Samsung break this technology into the mainstream with the Galaxy Beam?

T-Mobile’s Galaxy S Passes through the FCC

Although we’ve heard that the Galaxy S was headed to every major carrier in the US, it seems T-Mobile might be the first out the gate with their version. It has just passed through the FCC and it could (highly unlikely) make it way to Magenta in time for the free phone promotion this Saturday.

$88 5-inch Android Tablet? – Video

Yes, it’s that time of day. Only time will tell if this does make it onto the market. This is a 5-inch Android tablet by Acorp. The representative did say it would be available next month.  It does look pretty good though and it should be affordable.

720p Video Sample, Samsung Galaxy S

Not to be outdone by other smart phones that will be introduced into the market, the Galaxy S is capable of 720p video recording as well. This sample looks awesome, you can’t even tell this video is from a cell phone. This is just another awesome feature of the Galaxy s being displayed.

Nexus One 720p HD camera hack released

Looking for something new to do with your Google Nexus One?  If you're a photography fiend then how about 720p HD video recording; thanks to a new hack from - where else - xda-developers, you can now boost the Nexus One's native video capture capabilities. Currently the hack is predominantly for Android 2.1 Nexus One handsets; there's a test build for 2.2 Froyo, but from the sound of things it's not quite ready yet.  Video demo of the potential results below - make sure to choose 720p from the quality menu, else you won't be getting the full effect - and instructions/downloads here.
