HBO GO and MAX GO updates bring HDMI out features

For all those diehard fans of HBO's Game of Thrones or The Newsroom we have some good news this afternoon. Both HBO GO and the popular MAX GO have received a quickie update in the Google Play Store finally adding support for something we've all been waiting for. And that is HDMI-Out features. Now you'll be able to watch your favorite show anywhere.

If Netflix isn't cutting it for you and are instead resorting to other popular streaming apps like Hulu Plus, HBO GO, and Max GO, you might be happy to know that some small updates have come to all three. They aren't significant, but they may play a small role in improving your mobile movie and TV show watching sessions.

HBO GO updated with Android tablet support

The long-awaited update for HBO GO bringing Android tablet support has finally arrived late last night. When HBO updated their app last month with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich support, yet not tablet support many were surprised and a bit let down. HBO later confirmed a tablet version was coming soon and now it's finally here. Check out the screenshots and video streaming quality below.

So last week HBO updated their popular HBO GO and MAX GO Android applications with support for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich devices. While this was a much awaited and needed update it sadly didn't fix many users problem -- and that is no Android tablet support. After we reached out to HBO we received a quick statement confirming a tablet version will be coming very shortly.

Watch your favorite shows from HBO anywhere with HBO GO. The streaming service provided for subscribers to HBO and MAX has been something I've always used to watch the latest Game of Thrones or catch up on True Blood episodes, but along came my Galaxy Nexus and it wasn't supported. Today HBO has updated both of their GO movie streaming apps so almost everyone can enjoy them.

MAX GO Now Available from HBO

MAX GO, the mobile Android application for Cinemax subscribers, is now available in the Android Market. Similar to HBO GO, this service will be available after users authenticate their cable/satellite provider's information. Any movie or series available to Cinemax on demand will be available for mobile use on MAX GO.

Summertime is upon us and what does that mean aside from all manufacturers launching new phones? Great shows from HBO and Showtime are starting back up all summer long. I know that doesn't really have anything to do with Android but the highly popular HBO original series TrueBlood just started the new season last night and kicked off with a bang. All sorts of crazy things going on with shape-shifters, fairies, dead vampires, and even panthers. For those that don't watch the show I highly recommend it.
