It's not an ideal solution, at least not yet - it requires SETool, a flashing system that runs on dedicated hardware - but the guys there are hoping that it's the first step in delivering a software-based system. As for what you can achieve with your rooted X10, there are already custom ROMs being cooked up that delete Sony Ericsson's system-dominating social networking apps, that add extra access to the underlying Android OS, and more.
