Sony BRAVIA Smart Stick gets official

Sony is finally announcing something that we already know since early this week. The company has officially unveiled its Smart Stick accessory that includes support for Google Services, meaning, Android apps and the Chrome browser. And, as already reported, it only works with Sony's BRAVIA TV line.

Despite the fame, or recent infamy, of Google's Chromecast device, there are still steadfast fans of the older and more established Google TV platform, not only among users but also among manufacturers like LG and Sony. Chromecast is not the end of Google TV

Google announced the Chromecast yesterday. The Chromecast is a $35 dongle that will allow the user to wirelessly stream audio and video from their smartphone, tablet or laptop to their HDTV. This setup certainly looks like it has its advantages. One being the ease of use, but that aside, this announcement did cause some to worry about the future of another Google product -- Google TV.

Sony NSZ-GS8 Google TV set for release in July

Sony has officially announced their latest Google TV device. The model is called the NSZ-GS8 "Internet Player with Google TV" and availability is set to begin in July. With the GS8 in mind, this model is similar to the already available GS7, though there is one new feature worth mentioning. While the NSZ-GS8 is a full-featured Google TV box, one of the nicer perks comes with the remote control.
