Google Search turns 15, celebrates by adding cross-platform sync and more

In case you don't follow the official @Google Twitter account, or their comments over on Google+, the company is proud to be celebrating the 15th birthday of Google Search. The company has come a long way from operating in a small room, to being the giant powerhouse it is today. Along with some bragging rights we're also getting some new features which we'll talk about after the break.

Oh, it is definitely on! The battle for the top smartphone assistant has been going on for quite some time now but it seems that Apple's voice-controlled helper has now taken her gloves off. Siri has been reported to have some very amusing replies when people, mistakenly or intentionally, address her as "Glass".

Google is reportedly busy experimenting with a new “hyper-local news card” that will make their already impressive Google Now service even better. As you all know, we're huge fans of Google Now, and this is just one more upcoming feature that will make it better than ever. Tips suggest their new local news card will search for and find location-specific information and deliver it right to the user, before they ask for it.

Google Now: Traveling brought that ‘aha’ moment

Google Now is touted as being a service that is able to provide the right information at just the right time. The important aspect of all this is getting the information before you realize you need the information. While Google Now is not a new service, and while I have launched Now countless times on my smartphone -- I can honestly say that I just recently had my 'aha' moment and as a result I am checking it even more throughout the day.
