This week Google I/O brought tons of exciting new features and news in the world of Android. Sadly, there wasn't new hardware or that Nexus 7 redux we've been talking about as of late. Many rumors and leaks suggest a new Nexus 7 is coming, but Google didn't unveil anything. However, their new Google+ Hangouts video released yesterday might have just given us our first glance.

Google's is expected to have the next-generation of the Nexus 7 tablet available beginning in July, however the other side to this story may the one that is slightly more interesting. That side is touching on the pricing, and assuming these latest reports prove to be accurate -- it looks like Google will have the Nexus 7 available for as little as $149.

A special offer has recently shown up on the Nexus 7 WiFi + Mobile Data product listing in the Google Play Store. The offer is available for just a limited time, and does mean a discount for those who purchase the HSPA+ capable version of the Nexus 7. Well, for those who purchase the tablet and also agree to sign a two-year commitment with AT&T.

Are you looking to grab a 32GB Nexus 7 with mobile data from Google Play? Well, too bad for you, because its already completely sold out on Google's own retail site. The 16GB and 32GB Wi-Fi version of the tablet are still in stock, but it seems as if people really want to get mobile data on their mid-sized devices, and thus, are buying them up quickly. At least it lasted longer than the Nexus 4, which sold out in minutes and the 10-inch Nexus tablet.

As if today wasn't busy enough in terms of leaks about what Google is going to announce at the big event on the 29th, another piece of information has come out. This time, it comes from the FCC. A new listing on the FCC website clears a new 3G version of the Nexus 7 tablet. We are assuming that this is in preparation for Google to officially show off the 3G version of its popular tablet at its upcoming event.

As many of you already know, today was the day the world finally received that long-awaited iPad Mini reveal. It's no secret that the folks from Apple are likely set to announce their new iPad Mini next week, then release it in the following days. The battle is really going to heat up in the tablet wars once this happens, but Google doesn't need to worry. Carphone Warehouse announced that in the short time it has carried the Google Nexus 7, it has quickly become its best-selling Android tablet. This is not them calling it the best-selling Android tablet currently; it is the best-selling one in the history of the retailer. This just shows how the market is moving towards the more affordable, 7-inch tablet models and the power of the Google branding.
