Google Maps live traffic alerts now support 130 new cities

Today Google has unleashed another huge update for Google Maps. While this update isn't on the app side that will need downloading, instead it is backend features that will enable their real-time live traffic status alerts and details to an additional 130 cities across the US. That is a huge update if you ask us, and they've even included Costa Rica, and Panama City too.

Google Maps adds real-time New York Subway alerts

Today Google has added another addition to their Maps service that should make all those New York readers plenty happy. If you've ever missed the subway or been late this should help you out. Google Maps has offered transit times and updates for months, but now you'll get real-time updates and alerts in New York City.

Google Maps offline coming soon to Android

Today we are hearing from Brian McClendon, VP of Google Maps on what they have in store with Google Maps and the future. As the entire event gets under way we've already learned a few interesting little bits about the extremely popular Google Maps. Things like over 5 million unique miles have been drove by the Google Map cars. Today however, they just announced full offline maps coming soon to Android.

Google Maps adds Offers and indoor features

For the second time in as many weeks, Google has added features to the Android client for Google Maps. The update brings integration with the Google Offers deal program, as well as navigation for those sparse areas where Google has mapped out the interior of buildings. The latter is only available for the US and Japan at the moment. Lastly, they've modified the Street View function to provide 360-degree panoramic views of the inside of stores and other venues.
