Chevy’s RemoteLink updated with Proactive Alerts, Theft Alarm Notification

The RemoteLink app by Chevrolet has been a useful car app companion to drivers. It has received a lot of updates since it was launched and another round of updates has just been released by Chevrolet including Theft Alarm Notification. This new feature allows the system to send the owner notification if the vehicle is broken into or if there was any attempt to open or steal the car.

Chevrolet adding Android Auto, CarPlay to 2016 car lineup

Chevrolet seems to be serious with digitizing cars. Why, the car manufacturer has announced the it's adding Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to fourteen cars under GM's 2016 line-up. This means the infotainment systems, even if still in their early stages, will be utilized and finally used as a common feature. While other companies charge more for such systems, Chevrolet is making the advanced smartphone connectivity a standard item.

GM app scans license plates, gets driver’s phone number

Scared of having your phone number accidentally spread over the Internet? That may be the least of your worries if GM's new app and system ever takes off. The app, called DiDi plate will let anyone, with the right app of course, take a snapshot of a car's license plate and get the driver's phone number, opening him or her to a world of hurt from unsolicited messages.

GM expands OnStar App compatibility to more vehicles

I really like the idea of an app on my smartphone that can unlock my car for me and do other things. GM has a cool OnStar app for people that have a compatible vehicle with the OnStar service inside that has been around for a while now. The app lets users do all kinds of cool stuff from checking fuel level and tire pressure to starting the car and locking their doors or unlocking them.

Android Could be the Next Operating System of the Chevy Volt

As cars get smarter, there's no surprise that the Operating Systems powering them are going to get a lot more mainstream. No more just worrying about computer chips. No, as we get navigation units, and as OnStar gets smarter, we have to start looking at the things that power our every day items. Like our phones. And, as we can clearly see from the mobile phone market, Android is one of the strongest competitors to date. Apparently General Motors feels the same way, because reports are coming in that they're about to strike a deal with Google that would put Android in the Chevy Volt of the future.

Is This The LG Aloha?

LG is rumored to be working on a high-end Android device codenamed Aloha. So far there have not been any pictures of the device. The handset in the picture is the LG LU2300 and it is set for release in Korea. Could this be the rumored Aloha? Most of the specs match the rumored specs except the product number, C710 is rumored to be the Aloha and this device is the LU2300.

Like most new phones, AT&T and Dell are trying to keep the information on this phone tight lipped until they are ready to officially introduce it. Engadget managed to get some hands on time with the Aero at this year’s CTIA and there were a few surprises packed into this phone. Needless to say they are not the type of surprises we like around here.
