Android Community Sleek Audio giveaway!

We're big fans of Sleek Audio, and with the launch of the SA1 earphones the company's range is even more accessible than before. To celebrate the new SA1's Sleek Audio have given us two sets to give away to our readers, and they've also thrown in a grand prize of an SA6 W-1 wireless bundle - comprising a pair of SA6 earphones and the lossless Kleer Audio wireless system - too. The SA1 earphones are all about making high-quality audio more personal, with their VQ tuning system that allows you to tweak the treble performance according to your individual tastes, so we're keen to find out what helped your music get personal. To stand a chance of winning a set of SA1 earphones, or the SA6 W-1 bundle, head over to this forum thread and let us know about your first portable music system. Maybe you were an early iPod adopter, or perhaps you rocked an old Sony Walkman and still long wistfully for the old days of cassette tapes. Entries will be accepted until midnight EST on December 3rd, and we'll be picking three comments at random: one to win the SA6 W-1 bundle and two to take away a set of SA1 earphones each. Full competition rules are below; good luck! Rules Competition is open to residents of the US over the age of 18. Family members of Sleek Audio, SlashGear or Android Community are not permitted to enter. Competition entries are only accepted via the specified SlashGear forum thread; entries left in the comments section of this or any other post will not be recognized. Entries should be submitted before midnight eastern time on December 3rd 2009; one entry per person (and yes, we check). The winners will be announced on SlashGear and Android Community and contacted via email; they will be expected to respond within 24 hours else their prize may be forfeit and another winner selected. Editors decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winner agrees that their name and details of their entry may be used for promotional purposes by, but not limited to, SlashGear and Android Community. Prize consists of one SA6 W-1 Wireless Bundle and two sets of SA1 earphones to be shared between three winners. There is no cash alternative. Should this prize become unavailable, SlashGear, Android Community and Sleek Audio reserve the right to substitute another prize of equal or greater value.

Android Community MVP Vote!

We had you nominate your picks for the Android Community Most Valuable Poster. The winner will receive a limited edition HTC Magic from Google I/O. The device also comes with a month of service from T-Mobile, but the phone itself is unlocked for any carrier (aka T-Mo or AT&T in the U.S). Now we're down to the three top nominations. They are: DrVeronica, Susan and JohnnyLicious. So here's the deal, since all three had overwhelming support from the community, we're having final vote for the top MVP of Android Community. All three of these members garnished some incredible support because of their efforts in the community, and they're all fantastic contributors and members of AC, but we only have one phone to give away. Head on over to the comment section in the forums and vote in the poll!

Google I/O Developer Conference Tickets Giveaway!

There's a little over a week until Google's I/O Developer Conference, held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.  Android Community will be there, bringing you all the news, but thanks to our friends at Google we've also got three I/O tickets to give away to Android Community members! Last year, Google used the conference to show off their latest Android prototype and discuss their view of cloud connectivity and the future of Android.  This year, after successful commercial launches of actual Android handsets, we're expecting even more news and insight.  With Apple launching iPhone OS 3.0, Palm's Pre expected next month and Windows Mobile 6.5 chomping at the bit for release, this is Google's opportunity to wow us with the next generation of Android innovation. To stand a chance of winning one of the three Google I/O Developer Conference tickets, we're asking you to tell us about your most memorable experience with the Android platform.  We'll pick three, and those people will have access to the conference at the end of the month - if you can even get hold of a ticket they normally cost $400 each.  Remember, you'll need to get yourself to San Francisco for the conference, plus have somewhere to stay. Terms and Conditions Competition is open to residents of the US over the age of 18. Family members of Google and R3 Media are not permitted to enter. Competition entries are only accepted in the forum thread for this article; entries left in the comments of any other post will not be recognized. Entries should be submitted before midnight pacific time on Sunday May 24th; one entry per person. The winners will be announced on this site and contacted via email; they will be expected to respond within 48 hours else their prize may be forfeit and another winner selected. Editors decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winner agrees that their name and details of their entry may be used for promotional purposes by, but not limited to, R3 Media. Each of the three prizes consists of a single ticket to the Google I/O Developer Conference, held May 27th to 28th in San Francisco. There is no cash alternative.  Winners are responsible for any travel, accommodation or sundry expenses incurred in visiting the conference.
