Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Hands-On in Germany

It appears that our Android pals in Deutschland have gotten their hands on the yet to be release Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, one of two new tablets announced back at CTIA 2011 (we where there!) but without working units (we got to see the dummies!) We also got to see a working version of the Android 3.0 Honeycomb with TouchWiz overlay on a different test-unit tablet that same faithful day - what NewGadgetsDE has for the world now is no less than those two elements combined - and in a white-backed unit!

Samsung Galaxy S II Rooted by Chainfire

All you've gotta do is flash this thing down here and run SuperOneClick, and poof! It's a root! Chainfire is a developer from over at XDA Developer Forums who's about to go on a death-defying 10 day fast from dev work. Why, I do not know. What I do know is that before he left, he granted the world a lovely Kernel so that they may feast upon a rooted Galaxy S II. You'll have to be one of the few lucky enough to already have one of these devices in your hands of course to have all the fun, but it's nice to know it'll be there for you once you're part of the bigtime Samsung Galaxy S II party - and what a party it's going to be!

Samsung Galaxy S II not coming til Q3

This doesn't sound good. I know good things come to those that wait, but these are very crucial times and everyone has been pushing hard to get the latest and greatest out in terms of android phones. According to some new information the Samsung Galaxy S II wont see a launch til at least Q3. This is not good news, but then again they are working with all carriers and will probably launch on Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint just like the first phone. So that might be part of the delay, that and building enough CPU's.

Samsung Galaxy Tab WIFI only finally for sale starting April 10th

What do we have here, it looks as if Samsung has finally decided to sell the Wifi only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Yea that 7" slate that was released a long time ago that we never got a wifi version of, yup that is the one. A little late IMO, but better than never I guess. Samsung has just officially announced it will be up for sale starting April 10th (in 4 days) at multiple outlets and online sites.

Samsung Galaxy S II Hands-On

We've been given the opportunity to take a hands-on peek behind the scenes at Samsung with a fully functional Samsung Galaxy S II phone running Android 2.3.1 with TouchWiz 4.0 over the top. In addition to the hands-on video we've got here, we've also got a demonstration of some of the more fun gesture-based elements in TouchWix 4.0 [as presented by] our main homie Philip Berne. The Samsung Galaxy S II handset is an impressive device - one that I mistakenly call the thinnest device in Samsung's line of phones.*

Samsung Galaxy Player 4 & 5 headed to the U.S. to rival iPod

Looks like we have got a bit more exciting news about the Samsung Galaxy Player. Samsung intends to rival Apple's highly popular iPod Touch with a mini tablet-like device of their own. They have the Samsung Galaxy Player 4 & 5 both en route. The two models are named for screen size, 4" and 5". News has leaked that they are on the way to the U.S market and will be up for sale soon, as in "Spring".

Samsung Galaxy Devices Reveal Silicon Art [WARNING]

There's a few places that are really great to put a warning on a device. As a manufacturer, you can put a warning on the box of a bit of technology, just so long as that warning isn't going to tell the user about a possible blast into the ear. If there is going to be a blast into the ear of the user, the user would probably be better off having the warning about the blast be on the device itself. Sometimes there's another place for a warning, and that's deep within the device, under all the plastic, under all the metal. This is sometimes also known as Silicon Art.

Samsung to announce QWERTY in Android’s Galaxy

Samsung is looking to add a QWERTY Android phone to it's Galaxy line of phones during CTIA this month. The news is that the new phone will have a "candy bar" design much like BlackBerry, running Android 2.2 (Froyo). But it seems more likely that Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) would be more practical. The design is rumored to be a bit wider than the Samsung Galaxy S and is geared for a higher end clientele. Possibly aimed at Blackberry's business models?

Samsung Galaxy S II Early Price and Release

We're here to bear witness to an early price and release date for the long-awaited second generation of what's proved to be the world's most popular iteration of Android. This is the Samsung Galaxy S II (or Samsung Galaxy S 2, whichever you like,) and it's appearing over at Play for £599.99, which is, they say, £50.00 cheaper than the suggested retail price of £649.99. Of course we, aside from our UK superhero Chris Davies, live in the USA, thusly the current converted cash to USD for this release of the Samsung Galaxy S II is right around $966.

Firefox 4 Beta for Android “really” is that much faster

Yesterday we told you about the Firefox 4 Beta 5 for Android that was released to the Android Market yesterday morning. Mozilla claims they have not only made it more stable, and more efficient. They also mentioned two things that are a huge part of what browser I use on my Android Phone and that is speed, and size. With each beta release the browser has got a little faster, and the file size once installed has got a little smaller. When it was first released to beta it was slow and huge and not able to transfer to your SD card. Things have changed with the last few updates and Mozilla and Firefox are well on their way to having a great browser for mobile.
