Samsung Galaxy Note coming to Australia in early 2012

While the land down under isn't getting the Galaxy Tab 10.1 any time soon, Australian citizens can be glad that they're getting the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note. Early tomorrow (or in U.S. terms, late tonight) Samsung announced plans to distribute the jumbo smartphone there in "early 2012." Australia is only the second market confirmed to get the flagship device.

Samsung Galaxy Note coming to the UK November 17th

The much-anticipated smartphone/tablet hybrid Samsung Galaxy Note is coming in a lot faster than we expected. In a press release Samsung announced that the Galaxy Note is headed for the white cliffs of Dover on November 17th, just ten weeks after the device's premiere at IFA in Berlin. The phone will be available at retailers across the UK and Ireland.

Samsung Mobile Unpacked Event set for October 11th at CTIA

Well folks, today Samsung has been reaching out to the mobile world reminding everyone they will be live in San Diego on October 11th for CTIA. The CTIA events in October are more for developers and enterprise level guests but as usual we can expect a few neat things to come from the show. Their last event they unveiled three Galaxy S II models for the US, and before that at IFA we learned about the Galaxy Tab 7.7 and the popular Galaxy Note.

IFA 2011 Wrap-Up

As you may already know, we were live and in action this year in Berlin at IFA 2011, and without a doubt it was a year for tablets on the Android front. Samsung, Toshiba, and ViewSonic brought the heat while Lenovo brings on the candy-coated goodness. Then there's what many have considered the superstar of the whole show: the Samsung Galaxy Note; not a smartphone yet not quite a tablet - kind of like the Britney Spears of Android mobile devices, if you will. Bigger than a Galaxy S II but smaller than a new Galaxy Tab 7.7; offering the latest in capacitive touch but also a stylus; the Samsung Galaxy Note is a device with a few personalities. Intended to pull together phone, paper notebook, games device and tablet into one pen-enabled smart handheld, it's certainly one of the more ambitious gadgets we've seen at IFA 2011.
