Today we have the pleasure of showing you the new and improved Samsung Galaxy Note II. The smartphone needs no introduction as the newest sibling to the device that started the "phablet" trend. Samsung's Note is back and better than ever with an improved, thinner, more powerful design for round two. The original Galaxy Note was odd and large to say the least but this time around Samsung refined the entire experience. Read on to see our thoughts on the new Note II.

We've already heard plenty about the Samsung Galaxy Note II's features, and our friends over at SlashGear have given it a full review telling us what they think (spoiler: they're quite fond of it), but it appears that Samsung has a few more details up its sleeve. The company will be holding a press event in New York City on October 24 for the Galaxy Note II, which is an event we've known about for a little while. However, today we're receiving the formal invitation to the event, and you can see it in all of its glory below.

T-Mobile makes their Galaxy Note II official – gives no new details

Today the folks from T-Mobile have finally released an official "announcement" for the impressive Samsung Galaxy Note II phablet. While we knew it was coming to T-Mobile (and other major US carriers) T-Mobile hasn't yet made an official comment. Today however they've announced their version of the Note II will indeed be arriving "this fall."

AT&T drops device return policy from 30 days to 14

If you're planning to pick up a smartphone this fall or holiday season from the folks at AT&T you might want to make sure you know what you want, and choose the right device for you. As of yesterday AT&T has cut their device return policy from 30 days down to just 2 weeks. Yup, you'll have 14 days to decide if that HTC One X+ is right for you -- or if you'd rather enjoy that Galaxy Note II instead.

When Samsung announced their Galaxy Note II we know many were hopeful it would arrive for their carrier here in the US. Thankfully Samsung is releasing their new 5.5-inch phablet smartphone to 5 major US carriers starting around early November. After making that initial announcement we haven't heard anything from carriers. A new leak today reveals T-Mobile could launch their version on October 24th.

Galaxy Note II firmware update drops with Multi-View

The Samsung Galaxy Note II in Europe today received a new firmware update that adds a multi-view function. What is multi-view? It is a slick feature that allows users to have two windows open on one screen. This opens up tons of options for multitasking in a more computer-like way. Imagine watching a movie on your device and having an IMDB window open at the same time to find out who the stars of said movie are. The potential uses for this new feature are nearly limitless. Of course, not all Android apps support this feature, but as more devices have the feature we expect more apps to start using it. New Galaxy Note II devices in stores had this feature installed already, and it is good to see Samsung issuing the feature for devices already in the wild. Right now the new firmware is available in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. Besides multi view, it is not clear what else is included in this updated firmware. Users can update their devices over the air or using Samsung KIES. Either way, if you live in one of the supported regions, you should be able to get this new firmware right now. Let us know in the comments how you like the new feature. T-Mobile Galaxy Note II spotted in the wild

The Samsung Galaxy Note II is headed to the US in a big way, being announced as coming to 5 major US carriers by the end of the month or early November. Today the T-Mobile version of the popular phablet has been spotted hanging out in the wild. We already knew the Note II was headed to T-Mobile, but this is a good sign.

Samsung Galaxy Note II goes on sale in the UK

We have good news and bad news today for all those Galaxy Note II fans. The impressive new flagship phablet Galaxy Note II has gone up for sale today -- only it's in the UK. Those folks here in the US still have a month or so of waiting before you can get it on your favorite 4G LTE carrier. Those in the UK get the first crack at the new 5.5-inch smartphone thanks to Three UK.

AT&T announces four new Samsung Galaxy devices

It's been a little while since AT&T has announced some worthy phones (except the iPhone 5 obviously), but today AT&T just added a slew of new Samsung Galaxy devices to their lineup. The Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Galaxy Express, and Galaxy Rugby Pro are all coming to AT&T and will also support the carrier's 4G LTE.
