Samsung to show off 5.5-inch flexible screen during CES

We've heard plenty about Samsung's flexible smartphone screens throughout the years, but when CES rolls around in a couple of weeks, Samsung will be ready to show them off once again. This time around, the screen will be 5.5-inches and sport a resolution of 1280x720 - that gives us a pixel density of 267. There will also be a flexible 55-inch TV screen on display, so Samsung has been hard at work to bring us these nifty new displays.

Samsung postpones production of flexible AMOLED screens

Flexible AMOLED touch screens might be the next big thing in smartphone technology, but sadly, it looks like we'll be waiting a bit longer for their arrival. Samsung is reportedly delaying the production of its flexible AMOLED screens due to issues with yields. Since Samsung has been aggressively pursuing these new screens, it stands to reason that we won't see these flexible screens featured in smartphones until Samsung can sort out its production issues.

Samsung flexible OLED displays ordered in huge numbers

Samsung's flexible OLED displays might become a reality soon on smartphone and tablets. We've seen this in the past with Samsung showing off the technology last year, and recently naming their flexible OLED displays "Youm" with a release date aiming for late 2012. This dream might soon become a reality (although I'm still not sure of the uses) as Samsung has announced they've received "huge orders" of their impressive flexible OLED displays.

Samsung to produce flexible AMOLED displays in 2012

We had known that Samsung would be producing flexible AMOLED displays in the future, but had no idea on a definite timeframe. Samsung Mobile Display has just confirmed that they will start mass production of flexible screens this year. More specifically, the first set of screens should start production in the second to third quarter, where the second production line will commence second quarter of 2013.
