Firefox for Android Beta now lets you cast videos from websites

It’s not just downloaded videos or those that you get from subscription streaming services like Netflix that you sometimes want to show on a second screen, most likely a TV screen. Sometimes, you see something on your web browser that you think would be better seen on a larger screen. Firefox for Android Beta is now road-testing a new feature that will let you do just that, cast videos through your Roku or Chromecast onto another screen.

Since more and more people access the Internet through their smartphones and tablets, mobile browsers are now in a race to capture the users’ loyalty. While most people prefer the ubiquitous Chrome or Opera or even their smartphones’ built-in browser (although why you would do that is a mystery), the Firefox for Android has been making strides to vastly improve its mobile browser. Chrome isn't the only one getting a Beta makeover. Mozilla has just revealed the latest version of Firefox Beta for Android and it has two new features that are definitely boast-worthy. Users can now customize new tab pages with their choice of panels and can now switch the browser's language on the fly without having to change the entire device's language settings.

The latest Firefox for Android update has arrived in the Google Play Store this morning. The focus here appears to be on customization with Mozilla touting a new home screen and new sharing features. There are a handful of changes this time around, however it seems the most important may be dealing with Firefox Accounts and Firefox Sync.

Firefox Beta gets new Home design on Android

Firefox Beta for Android has received yet another update. This latest update has recently landed in the Play Store and it brings an updated startup screen. This is being called "Home" and it is described as being a place where users can get "quick and easy access to their browsing data."
