Facebook for Android updated – takes over the app tray

Facebook for Android has seen a few updates this week in case you've missed them. While I wouldn't go as far as to call them progress -- they are making changes. Some for the better, and some for the worse. As if Facebook didn't consume too much of peoples lives already, now they've updated the app and added two more icons to our app tray. Instead of one Facebook icon on our phones, we now have three, or four. Seems excessive to me and I'm not a fan.

Facebook buys TagTile – bringing coupon deals to mobile

Facebook is back in the news today for throwing around large sums of money. After buying Instagram for a whopping 1 billion dollars today we've learned they also snatched up a mobile app company called TagTile. In case you aren't huge into Facebook, today they launched Facebook Offers -- basically coupons and deals they'll send to your email for free coffee, or other discounts. TagTile will most likely be joining that system.

Facebook celebrates IPO with Android app update

In case you haven't been following the latest Facebook news they've just gone public. Recently signing their Initial Public Offering, authorized by Ernst & Young LLP as having shares of its common stock available to the world. While this is big news it doesn't really matter for us here in the world of Android. We do have some good news though -- Facebook for Android just received an update although only a minor one.
