HTC EVO 3D design prevents kickstand, but we have you covered

If you are like us and saw the unveiling and showcase of the amazing looking HTC EVO 3D this week you are probably as excited as us about this device. A beast by any measure coming to Sprint soon. The link above mentions all the specs so I'll spare all of that other than mentioning that it will probably sell as many or more than it's younger brother. This story we bring you news about the kickstand everyone loved on the EVO 4G. Sadly it will not be present on the 3D.

HTC EVO 3D Ad released

HTC has released it's first commercial ad for the HTC Evo 3D. The ad takes the phone through it's video playback and record paces and features content bursting from the screen into the third dimension. It also mentions the wireless streaming to TV feature of the phone. The slogan ... glasses off, 3D on ... your mobile life in 3D. HTC and Sprint announced the Evo 3D at CTIA yesterday in Orlando Florida. It's killer feature is the ability to view 3D content without the need of those geek ridden 3D glasses. Using an autostereoscopic, 4.3-inch qHD display and powered by a dual core 1.25 Ghz Snapdragon processor, the Evo 3D not only allows users to view 3D content, but make it as well. It features twin 5MP rear facing cameras that can shoot 720p HD video at 30 frames per second in 3D. The Evo 3D runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) out of the box with the latest HTC Sense 4.0 overlay. It also enjoys on board apps like Yahoo 3D for uploading 3D content, and Blockbuster 3D, which allows users to purchase and rent both 2D and 3D content, and games as well. Check out our Hands-On here. The HTC Evo 3D will be available through Sprint later this summer. [youtube JSuD45mRl_o]

HTC Evo 3D Hands-on via SlashGear

Today at CTIA, Chris from SlashGear got a look at the HTC Evo 3D up close and personal. And while the Evo 3D isn't the first to offer a glasses free 3D experience, it's certainly announcing it's presence in the category with authority as it's a pretty sweet looking handset. Using a 4.3" 960x540 qHD autostereoscopic display, the EVO 3D is a glasses free experience. It's powered by 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core processor running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with the latest HTC Sense 4.0 overlay. Designed for Sprint's 4G/WiMax network, the Evo 3D is built for speed.

Sprint HTC EVO View 4G and EVO 3D prematurely confirmed

Sprint's imminent HTC EVO View 4G tablet and HTC EVO 3D smartphone have been previewed on the company's own site, with a little promotional URL fiddling revealing pre-interest pages for both devices. No official specifications have been given, but we already know plenty about these two models. The HTC EVO View 4G is Sprint's version of the HTC Flyer, with a 1.5GHz single-core processor, 7-inch display and a special active stylus for handwriting recognition. It will also include 4G WiMAX connectivity, and has a new black casing rather than the GSM version's white finish. As for the HTC EVO 3D, that's expected to have a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and be capable of showing 3D images on a glasses-free display. Full specs here. [via Engadget]
