ASUS offering cash vouchers for Nexus 7 buyers in Europe

When Google announced that their Nexus 7 tablet would be getting a price drop on October 29th, and that the 8GB model would be replaced with a 16GB offering it was good news. Sadly, many paid $249 for the 16GB model only to see it drop in price a few days later -- and I'm sure a few were upset. In Europe ASUS has confirmed they'll be rewarding vouchers to those who purchased before October 29th.

LG Optimus L5 ICS smartphone hits Europe this month

LG's brand new style-focused L series is getting ready to launch worldwide and in Europe this month and today they've announced more details on the mid-ranged L5 model. First announced back in February this 4.0-inch Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device will be headed to Europe in June, and then continue with the worldwide release in July.

Galaxy S III release date: May 29th in Europe

Samsung has spent the last hour telling us how great the Galaxy S III is, but they saved the real treat for last. The Galaxy S III will launch in Europe on May 29th, with a worldwide tour and release following. Samsung did not mention what the device would cost, or in which specific European countries it would be available.

European carriers say Nokia should go Android

If you've been following smartphone news from some non-Android sources, you probably know that Nokia's Lumia 900 has made quite the splash over on AT&T. But apparently it's not doing so hot across the pond: reports out of European cell carriers say that their retail staff can't make a case for other Lumia phones like the 710 and the 800. Why? It's the software, of course - Nokia's gone full Windows Phone 7 with their smartphone line, something that's a hard sell for European customers expecting Android.

ASUS Padfone gets European date and pricing

Oh Padfone, how long we've waited for you. But those of you in Europe won't have to wait too much longer. After ASUS announced that the much-anticipated smartphone/tablet/netbook would be selling in Taiwan this month, Notebook Italia reports that Italy (and presumably other European territories) will get the Padfone in late May. They also spoke to the Euro price of the device: €699 for the phone and tablet combo. The keyboard dock, similar to the docks for the Transformer tablets, will be an additional €149.
