Most of you may have been unaware about the OTA that you received on your brand new Droid Incredible. No, it wasn’t and upgrade to Android 2.2 as much as we would like to see that. It was actually maintenance OTA to fix Exchange.
Supposedly this picture was taken at a Sprint store in Florida. There’s an EVO event being held next week, it looks as though you will be able to purchase this device at the time or shortly after. We’re hoping for availability on that day, guess we’ll keep our fingers crossed.
The first batches of these handsets that were tested were missing nearly all of Google’s apps. Like the Bacflip, this handset was also going to have a few core Android apps replaced by bloatware. The most notable omission was Yahoo Search integration instead of Google’s search. Dell has recently confirmed that all of Google’s app will be installed on this device.
Motorola has just made the decision to use Skyhook instead of Google’s Location services. This news is relatively new and out of nowhere so there aren’t many details on how this will work just yet. There have been a lot of Android devices leaked for Dell this past week. Most aren’t scheduled to appear until 2011. An old roadmap has recently surfaced on Android Central with a few Android devices we haven’t seen until now. The Sparta, Athens and looking Glass HD (codenames for now, don’t think these names will stick).
This offering from Dell is a bit toned down from the recent leaks but is still a great device. The Dell Aero will be released for AT&T sometime in the second quarter. It has a 624 MHZ processor and a few other tricks up its sleeve.
Dell is on a full on Android assault, they have many new devices in the pipeline. Seeing as how they entered the game late, they are positioning themselves to offer the most Android devices in the market. This tablet is similar to the Dell Mini 5, aka the Streak, it is a seven inch tablet. Rumors have this thing set for a November release.
The second leak of future Dell Android devices comes in any color you like long as its black (car guys gets this). This phone will be called the Thunder and with it comes a new UI made by Dell called Stage. Like the last leaked phone by Dell, there’s good news and bad news with this device as well.
Dell seems to be raising the bar with their second generation Android devices. This is the first of two that has just surfaced around the web. This phone will be called the Dell Flash and it has some great specs, but there is a down side to this awesome device.
