HTC reveals Q3 financial results and it doesn’t look good

HTC has revealed Q3 2012 financial results, and unfortunately, things are not looking so good for HTC. Both revenue and profit are down by around 50%. In all, HTC made NT$70.2bn ($2.4bn), which is a drop of 48-percent from Q3 2011 and 23-percent from Q2 2012. Operating profit was NT$4.9bn ($167m). This is a decrease of a staggering 76-percent year-on-year.

Google likely to have sold close to 1m Nexus 7 tablets

Here's some news that should not be very surprising: people really like the Nexus 7 tablet. At such a reasonable price, it's not surprising at all that it's selling so well. According to an analyst, the 7-inch tablet likely sold 800,000 to 1 million units in the third quarter of this year.

Motorola earnings report posts $121m loss in Q1 2012

The numbers are in and they aren't looking good. Today Motorola Mobility announced their earnings report for Q1 of 2012 and so far they aren't off to a great start. Between the looming Google acquisition and slumps in sales things are a little shaky, but not too bad. While their overall numbers reported a decently large loss their mobile hardware and smartphone division is still doing pretty good.
