Android 4.4 rolling out to Verizon DROID users now

After a soak test, Verizon DROID owners are set to get Android 4.4 soon. The update is rolling out gradually, and affects all new DROID devices via Verizon. With that, you can expect your DROID Ultra, Maxx, and Mini to get KitKat soon, but don’t get overly excited. The update comes with a few catches.

DROID Ultra, Mini, Maxx soak test brings talk of Kit Kat

The specifics have yet to be revealed, however it does appear that Verizon and Motorola are getting ready to begin a soak test for the DROID lineup. This time around the update looks to be heading to the DROID Ultra, Mini and Maxx. And perhaps more important, it is believed to be the Android 4.4 Kit Kat update. What we have seen comes by way of an email from the Motorola Feedback Network and that bit about Kit Kat does involve a bit of speculation.

Verizon DROID ULTRA and DROID MINI arrive in white

Verizon has added a new color for the DROID ULTRA and DROID MINI handsets. As of today, both handsets are available in white. This new white model joins the previously available black and red and is basically, the same handsets, just in a new color. Simply put, the pricing and the specs each remain the same as had been.

Verizon DROID ULTRA and MAXX software update detailed

Verizon looks just about ready to begin pushing out another update for those carrying either a DROID ULTRA or a DROID MAXX. This latest update isn't one that will likely be considered major, however there are a few notable items in the changelog. To begin with though, this update will take both devices to software version 12.15.10 and both will be getting goodies to include connectivity improvements.

Verizon DROID Mini arrives in red

Images of a red DROID Mini leaked back in October and similar to how Verizon was quiet at the time, they have just as quietly slipped the handset into the available lineup. As of today, the Verizon DROID Mini has gotten a color refresh. The handset remains available in black and can now be purchased in red.

Consumer Reports: iPhone 5s and 5c put against Verizon DROID lineup

There are plenty of available options in terms of device research these days. But that being said, Consumer Reports is one of the more respected names and they have recently published a report on the iPhone 5s and 5c. And for a bit of detail that will make some of the Android faithful smile, they placed those up against the Verizon Motorola DROID lineup -- with the Apple devices falling short in a few categories.
