Motorola had begun testing the Jelly Bean update for the DROID Bionic. And well, it looks like that update is just about ready to begin rolling out to Verizon Wireless users. The carrier has since detailed the update and as such we now know that it will be arriving as Android 4.1.2 and with build number 98.72.22.XT875.

Motorola has been working pretty hard on their software updates lately, and one that I'm sure many of you have been dying to get news regarding is the popular DROID Bionic. After launching an update timeline website full of details, many were wondering when they'd see an update. Today however Motorola's just confirmed when the Bionic can expect to see those Jelly Bean features.

Personally I think the Bionic should get updated before the RAZR, but that's just me. Today however the near-final Android 4.0.4 build has leaked and is available to all.

DROID Bionic has been leaked recently. Sadly we are still waiting for the official Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Bionic, and now that seems to be pretty far off. When we are still seeing Gingerbread builds leak, that can't be a good thing for the Android 4.0 ICS progress.
DROID Bionic is set to receive another update in the coming weeks as Motorola has started sending out their usual "soak test" invites for owners to participate in the testing phase. There's no telling if this is an incremental update, or Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at this point. The more updates the better though right?
