Motorola DROID 3 update coming soon, two builds leaked
It looks like Motorola is prepping a few updates to soon roll out to the DROID 3. For starters, no this is not Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and merely just maintenance updates. So far we haven't heard reports of an update or a soak (beta) test for these updates but they have leaked and are available now for those interested.

Motorola DROID 3 now only $99 from Verizon
Motorola and Verizon have been on a role as of late and while this is an awesome deal, I have a feeling a few recent buyers might not be too happy about the new pricing. With the new DROID 4 just announced Verizon looks ready to start clearing the shelves of the older 3G version because they are now offering it at a great price.

CyanogenMod 7 for DROID 3 coming soon to a custom recovery near you
When the ROM wizards at CyanogenMod release a version for a new phone, you know it's hit the big time - at least in the eyes of the most devoted members of the Android community. For the Motorola DROID 3, that day is drawing near. A member of the CyanogenMod development team posted an early version of the Gingerbread custom ROM in a YouTube video.

Motorola DROID 3 Update rolling out now
Well, Motorola and Verizon have finally started the 2.3 Gingerbread update rollout for the DROID 3. It was first announced earlier this month and after initially rolling out to a few testers it was pulled to make a few last minute changes. Now just a few weeks later everything is a go and the update should be hitting phones today.

Motorola DROID 3 FM Radio App works for the Bionic too
I'm sure there is still plenty of users around these parts that uses the FM radio feature of their Android phone. When the DROID 3 came out and indeed had FM radio support and a fancy app to go with it many users liked it. The Droid Bionic sadly does not share this same app for some odd reason and according to specs the Droid Bionic doesn't have an FM radio. Although using the DROID 3 APK we've quickly learned it does indeed have a FM radio, and it works great.

Motorola DROID 3 OTA update coming soon
Well, the Motorola Droid 3 hasn't been out too long but it is already set to get an over the air update soon, possibly sometime this week. Something we have heard of many times is about to start and that is a "soak test" for the over the air update. This update should hopefully fix a slew of small problems plaguing the device since launch such as battery issues and what not, as well as hopefully add Google Talk voice chat capabilities with Android 2.3.4

Motorola DROID Bionic Rooted Already
Well ahead of the release date it appears the new Motorola DROID Bionic has already been rooted. Just as a few of us suspected the recent Droid 3 exploit that seems to be working on most newly update to Android 2.3 Motorola devices has also got the job done for the Bionic. I'm sure a few were debating buying the phone for this exact reason so this is good news.

Motorola Droid 3 Receives Root Access [Updated with 1-click]
Thanks to XDA Forums member djrbliss, who hasn't ever actually touched the Droid 3, found a nice and simple exploit that has allowed the Droid 3 to be successfully rooted. He has yet to unveil the full exploit used but he was nice enough to give everyone some instructions to do this on their own. No one click root here, this requires some ADB shell skills so make sure you know what you're getting into.

Motorola Droid 3 and other devices out of stock at Verizon
Some new details are coming forward stating that many of the devices offered over at Big Red (aka Verizon) are out of stock, back-ordered and even hitting end of life and will not be sold from here on out. For end of lifers it appears the Droid 2 and Motorola Citrus are both soon being added to the EOL list along with a few other less important feature phones. We also see the Droid 3 is back-ordered and users might have a hard time finding it in stock for purchase.
