Motorola split seems eminent

The Android OS has been doing so well over the past six months, its CEO, Sanjay Jha is starting to speak up about the eminent split. Not surprising to us, as Motorola has been wanting to turn its handset device into an independent company for some time now-first quarter 2011 seems to be their timeframe. The split seems most likely to occur in January or early February, leaving CES and Mobile World Congress trade shows behind them.

Verizon R2-D2 Droid available now on Verizon.com

If you have been waiting for the official release of the R2-D2 Droid 2, the wait is now over with Verizon’s site going live and the phone now available. As expected it’s displaying it’s $249 after $100 (this time online discount) with a full retail price of $699.

Activate the Droid 2’s FM radio! Yes, It has one

Did you know that the Droid 2 has an built in FM Radio like the Droid X? Well it was news to us when we stumbled across the XDA Developers forums as well. It appears that forum user slayher has found a way to unlock the use of the FM Radio by porting the Droid X Radio App to the Droid 2. Now although this requires root, for now, the official update may be coming soon.

Verizon’s Droid R2-D2 coming September 30th

We have heard about it, we have seen it, even dummy units shipping to stores. Well now we finally know when it will be available from Verizon. The Droid R2-D2, Star Wars themed DROID 2 will be coming to Verizon online and select stores September 30th.

Droid 2 World Edition Spotted, sporting a Silver and White color Scheme

The Droid 2 World Edition, or Global, is the first phone of the Verizon DROID series to be able to be used outside of the US. Making it a perfect traveling business companion the Droid 2 World Edition features internals capable of global roaming. However, as of now it looks like these new internals are the only feature it has that it’s predecessor, the Droid 2, lacks.

Droid 2 Review

We recently had a Droid 2 to review and wanted to highlight some of the key points about the Droid 2. Being that the original Droid was launched almost 9 months ago, Motorola felt that it was time to update the design with some better internals and updated externals.

Motorola Milestone 2 Leaks Out Into The Wild

This really isn't a surprise to us at all that the currently known Droid 2 would be the Motorola Milestone 2. Apparently though, someone leaked this info before Motorola wanted it to be out in the open. Milestone has all the goodies that you would expect it to have, being that it is a sister phone to the Droid 2.
