The DROID 2 disappeared from Verizon's website when it was replaced with the DROID 2 Global just a few months after release. However, it has now reappeared on Verizon's official site, this time as a certified pre-owned device.
If you are a fan of Star Wars, then you probably know about the DROID R2D2. If you have been reluctant to buy one due to it's "special edition" pricing or contract issues, then now is your best chance to get the device, as it has been dropped to $199.99.
All this talk over the years, about whether or not cellphones are a danger to the humans that use them, usually never included phones that explode. For one man, who lives in North Texas, it would seem that he's learned the hard way that our favorite gadgets can turn deadly in the blink of an eye. That's probably more dramatic than it needs to be, but there's quite a bit of blood on that Motorola Droid 2, which reportedly exploded right next to the man's ear.
Mister p3droid over at myDroidWorld forum seems to have his hands on some Droid 2 screens, and they seem to be really pretty. The first screen shows the Home Screen launcher (complete with a really sharp San Francisco Giants wallpaper.) Next is a shot of a new Profiles option that appears to let you schedule the way your phone looks depending on options like Home, Work, and Weekend. Finally, it appears there's a new wired tethering option.
Time for some more DROID 2 Global news, this time in the form of it being officially able to view online (sort of). The Droid Pro is currently the only handset out of the 3 available for Verizon's 360° view but we do see the DROID 2 Global Winter White and Dark Sapphire right there on the page.
As if the yet to be unannounced DROID 2 Global could get any more press time, it has now been spotted in magazine advertisements. As mentioned in the magazine advertisement here, it was mentioned alongside the Droid Pro and Droid X as part of Verizon's holiday DROID lineup.
The DROID 2 Global has sure been the focus of the internet lately. First with rumors that it was going to replace the DROID 2 (it will) then with rumors that it will be coming in 2 colors (blue and white) other than the rumors of it's specs and color we have heard little of a release date, besides "soon."
We know that one of your favorite things out there is a comparison chart between an upcoming device, and some of the heavy hitters out there already available on the network. So, here we are with a new one featuring the Samsung Continuum, the device that's still missing from any kind of official Verizon announcement. But, we know the device exists, and now we see how it compares to some of the other devices available for Verizon.
