doubleTwist Magic Radio music service now streaming

The latest music streaming service has launched for Android users. The service is called Magic Radio and it comes by way of doubleTwist. In fact, the Magic Radio service has arrived as part of the latest doubleTwist app update. Magic Radio is included with doubleTwist v2.0 and touts itself as being perfect for those who are "tired of listening to the same old songs from your music library."

There's been an upgrade to the popular DoubleTwist AirSync app which adds a serious new feature that Android phones can take advantage of. Using the feature known as "AirTwist," Android phones can now stream video wirelessly to a TV through an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 game console. More DLNA devices are also coming.

DoubleTwist has recently released a new update for Android devices and for their desktop client as well. The biggest new feature of the update is the Airsync ability. Basically it allows the user to manage and sync your iTunes music, photos and videos wirelessly between your computer and your Android device.

If you have an HTC Incredible or Samsung Galaxy S, you will find that currently doubleTwist doesn’t support files that are stored on your internal memory. This will change soon according to doubleTwist. Their app is currently being updated to take advantage of handsets with internal storage.

T-Mobile adding doubleTwist to new Android devices

T-Mobile have already included doubleTwist with one of their handsets, the recently-launched myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition, but according to TechCrunch the media management software will soon be bundled with a large number T-Mobile's Android devices. A deal is expected that will see T-Mobile distribute a custom version of the app with each Android handset sold, replicating the sort of functionality iPhone owners have come to expect from iTunes. As for the customizations, it's actually a feature omission rather than an addition. T-Mobile USA have seemingly requested that the Amazon MP3 store - usually integrated into doubleTwist - be removed from their version; of course, Android users are free to download the full app from doubleTwist's site. Even if T-Mobile doesn't preload doubleTwist onto a specific handset, they'll be promoting the app in-store and in included documentation.
