Dolphin Browser. The popular Android web browser has just released its latest beta version and is putting out a call to help polish the app.
Dolphin Browser has arrived in the Google Play Store and it brings quite a few new features. There is an updated user interface, some improvements to search and something called the Dolphin key. Of course, those are just a few from a list that also comes along with news of the browser having reached a new installation milestone. The Dolphin Browser folks have said the browser has now been installed 80 million times.
Dolphin Browser has recently come available in the Google Play Store. The app has jumped to version 9.2.0, but perhaps more important than a number -- this update has brought several new features. Some of the goodies include improvements to sharing, remembering and integration with the desktop.
Dolphin Browser HD remains a favorite for power users, including those of us here at Android Community. The latest update adds a bevvy of new features, mostly surrounding Dolphin's evolving user interface. The biggest change is a new menu bar that slims down the old double-row interface and hides a lot of the less immediate menu options behind more stylish icons, allowing users to keep an eye on more of the web window at once. According to forum poster "Fnorder", the new Webzine feature records every link, search and visited page and sends them to a remote server. If true, the breach of Dolphin users' privacy is very disturbing indeed. UPDATE: In response to the security and privacy concerns, the makers of Dolphin Browser have disabled the Webzine feature. According to the developer, user browsing data was never saved, and users' security has not been compromised.
being in beta for a while. Along with the updated version comes some great new changes and improvements. One important note is the main app no longer has ads integrated. Before users needed an add-on that removed ads or had to pay for Dolphin. Version 5.0 is now ad-free.
