Motorola adds spill-proof coating and free accessories to XYBOARD tablets
Here's a nice surprise: in a refreshing bit of post-launch self improvement, Motorola has announced that its XYBOARD 10.1 and 8.2 Android tablets are being upgraded with a spill-proof coating. The change will only affect the WiFi models (at least as far as we know) which will have the same price as they do now: $399.99 for the 8.2-inch 16GB tablet and a hundred bucks more for the 10.1. If you buy them directly form Motorola's store you'll also get a free case and HD dock. As far as we know, neither the spill-proof coating or the freebie accessories are being offered for the DROID XYBOARDs, Verizon's 4G LTE version.

LEGO charging dock for Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Lets say you don't approve of the accessories out on store shelves for your device. What is one to do? Well, you could always design some out of LEGOs like XDA developer Tibow. He managed to create a rather nice looking LEGO dock that holds the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in a landscape orientation. The only thing missing when compared to other docks, is it doesn't initiate "dock mode" when plugged in.

New Google patent points toward Android desktop mode
Tired of hearing about Android on the desktop? Too bad. Just days after rumors started spreading about a dockable desktop mode in Android 5.0 "Jelly Bean" Patently Apple (which really needs a new name, by the way, since Apple's "spirit of invention" has devolved into copying then suing absolutely everyone) found patent filings pointing towards trackpad gestures in future versions of Android. You can take this one of two ways: that Google intends the smartphone/tablet to work as a trackpad in docked mode (as it can now) or that these features are aimed at full laptops or desktops running Android.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus desktop dock available from Samsung
Since Google and Samsung first announced the Galaxy Nexus we have been waiting for some official accessories from Samsung themselves, especially for the Verizon LTE model. Thanks to a watchful eye it appears Samsung.com is all set and has recently started shipping the desktop dock for the Galaxy Nexus. Looking at the compatibility list the Verizon model is clearly listed.

Galaxy Nexus accessories delayed, Expansys offers car dock January 29th
Ever since the popular Samsung Galaxy Nexus launched we've been waiting for a few awesome accessories from Google and Samsung. We saw a great desktop dock in Hong Kong during the official Nexus unveil, and an impressive car dock that I'd love to buy but sadly none are available. Popular online shop Clove UK has recently updated their blog stating that accessories have been delayed. They aren't the only ones pushing back dates either but we do have some good news after the break.

LightPad: a pico projector for Android with big ideas
As neat an idea as they seemed, Motorola's various Lapdocks haven't amounted to much. The principle's is sound, but if you're going to carry around an accessory that's as big as a laptop, as heavy as a laptop, and almost as expensive as a laptop, why not just carry a real freaking laptop? Startup company QP Optoelectronics intends to change the equation, by giving you an 11" screen, full keyboard AND up to a 60" projector, all in a package about the size of a few magazines. They're calling their flagship product the LightPad.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus official dock accessories appear online
We already know the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus is coming this November and with those 3 dock connectors on the side we all had a pretty good idea some fancy docks were on their way too. Today they've showed up online at a few retailers as "official Samsung accessories" although sadly we don't get any pictures to do us justice or make us drool -- yet. I have a feeling some pretty awesome car and desktop multimedia docks are in the works from Samsung and Google.

HTC Rhyme hands-on and unboxing [Video]
There's a lot of negative connotation out there when one says "female phone," but the HTC Rhyme is aiming to change that (even if it doesn't want to do so officially). the 3.7-inch Verizon smartphone arrived at my doorstep and I couldn't wait to slip right into its purple plum packaging. Even if you're not swayed by the feminine touches, this phone has some compelling accessories right out of the box that are definitely worth your attention.
