Nest invites developers to power up its products

Nest's thermostat and smoke detectors are pretty smart already, with the help of a smartphone of course, but as far as the so called "Internet of Things" go, they're pretty much like isolated islands. That situation will soon be changing now that Nest has launched its Developer Program to help extend its products beyond the confines of the living room, or ceiling.

Google gives developers more stats in latest Play Games Services update

Google added new game statistics (for developers) back in March. Essentially, this meant game developers (on Android, iOS and the web) were able to get access to certain stats provided they implemented Google Play Games. Well, flash forward till the present day and it looks like Google will be offering developers a bit more insight.

OUYA to end free-to-try requirement

In trying to woo game developers, OUYA is making a move that might not sit well with a number of gamers. In the coming weeks, OUYA will be removing the hard requirement for developers to follow a free-to-try model and let them decide whether to ask for payment upfront or not.

Google Play Games new feature set has been confirmed. The news, which slipped last night is now official. In this case we are looking at features more intended for the developer side, which touched on the Google Play Games SDK. Of course, while this is initially aimed at developers, it should also serve to give the average mobile game player some hints in terms of what will be coming.
