Quad-core Creative HanZpad slides through the FCC
It's been a year and a half since we saw any Android hardware from Creative Labs, but that may change very soon. Engadget spotted a previously unknown tablet, the HanZpad (yeah, we don't know either) going through the motions at the FCC. It's a pretty standard WiFi tablet, but there's some surprisingly high-end specs on display, including a quad-core ARM processor and a thickness of just 7.95mm.

ZiiLABS to Showcase a Zii Optimized Android Phone platform next Month
Android, as we all know, is popping up in many devices nowadays, and not just cellphones. But it is a mobile platform, and that makes a lot of companies like Dell, to try to get more mobile devices out to the public. Now is the turn of ZiiLABS to enter the Android zone. For some reason, China is becoming the promise land to many companies, as we know Dell will be releasing the Mini 3i Android smartphone on that country first. Also in that country, on December 1st, a Zii Optimized Android Phone platform will be showcased, at the Zii Summit 2009. The company called Zii Labs is owned by Creative, and will be showcasing green solutions for developers on next month's Zii Summit. But lets not get crazy going through all the products and services, instead, check below for the main dish - at least for us on this Android site - which promises to be a real media powerhouse. Now don't get me wrong, I like a greener planet too, so if you want to learn more about this summit, check here for more info.
Zii Powered Devices A range of OEM-ready Zii Powered devices will be showcased - powered by ZiiLABS ZMS-05 and ZMS-08 media-rich application processors. The line-up of devices on display include: a Touch Tablet PC, a Netbook, a Web-Box, a 360o Multi-View Camera System, ultra high-performance Speakers, a Piano Keyboard for the PC, and a Portable e-Book Reader. But the highlight of our devices line-up is our Mobile Phone platform. ZiiLABS ushers in a new era of explosive high definition 3D with the Zii Optimized Android Phone platform. The Zii Optimized Android Phone platform gives developers the chance to use the familiar Android OS, but with a difference. DIY Virtual Reality Headset with an HTC Magic
Okay, so this time we bring to you an easy DIY project, all you need is an old - or new, it doesn't matter - pair of lab goggles, cardboard, tape, a ruler, a knife, an HTC Magic, and of course, a lot of time in your hands. This is the creative handiwork of Recombu’s Andrew Lim, and he shows you how to do it on the video at the end of this post. The DIY virtual reality headset, takes advantage of the accelerometer on the HTC Magic, so you can use it to pan around in the compass Street View mode of Google Maps for example. Also, you could use one of the augmented reality apps available for Android to make things more interesting when using the device. Now, Chris over at SlashGear said the following:
We can’t quite decide whether this is genius or insanity, but we’re not going to let that stop us making our own.
So I will definitely stay in contact with him, to find out when will his project be ready. I'll try to get some pictures of his project, as well as video, if there's any. Chris, are you reading this?
