Cowon makes some stylish and acoustically sound products, which they've lately been loading with Android. The latest is the Z2 Plenue, and no, we don't know what "Plenue" means, either. The device is on sale in South Korea now, but probably won't make it outside of Asia for a few months at the very least.
Cowon's D3 PMP went up for pre-order, and now it's already shipping. Earlier than expected, the 3.7-inch AMOLED media player is on sale in both the UK and the US, with its JetEffect 3.0 tuning courtesy of Cowon's own CEO, Namkyu "Golden Ears" Park. Advanced MP3 Players are listing all three versions: 8GB for £219, 16GB for £239 or 32GB for £279; US shoppers can pick up the 32GB version through Amazon for $369.99 [via SlashGear]
pre-order in the UK. The player looks more like a smartphone than an MP3 player to me and has a big 3.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 800 x 480.
Cowon has outed its latest PMP, and as was rumored earlier in the year, the new Cowon D3 Plenue runs Android 2.1. Fronted by a 3.7-inch AMOLED WVGA touchscreen, the D3 Plenue has WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, an HDMI port and a T-DMB digital TV tuner. It also has a huge list of codec support and, we're guessing, lives up to Cowon's tradition of audiophile-quality sound. Three versions will be on offer, in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities (with a microSD card slot if you want to add more) but there's no word on pricing or release dates at this stage.
