ARM unveils Cortex-A17 CPU and Mali-T720 GPU for mid-range devices

Riding on the popularity that its ARM chip designs are currently enjoying in the mobile world, ARM Holdings has announced two new chips for chip makers to turn into reality. The Cortex-A17 processor and the Mali-T720 graphics chip will deliver the much needed and improved performance that ARM hopes will power the next generation of mid-range mobile devices.

The mid-range market is growing, and so are emerging markets around the world. Both those sectors have something in common, and that’s a price point that most can afford. With so many analysts pointing to that segment as the largest area for growth in the mobile space, Qualcomm has stepped up to deliver a processor that can both deliver on performance, and hit a reasonable price point.

Samsung Exynos 5440 quad-core to be based on Cortex-A15 for Galaxy S4

Samsung's brand new Exynos 5250 dual-core processor powering the Nexus 10 tablet is the only production mobile processor currently based on the Cortex-A15. The chip is extremely fast, powerful, and efficient, and now we're hearing their upcoming quad-core powerhouse will be the same. Samsung's own Kernel Git page has confirmed their upcoming Exynos 5440 quad-core, although we had our suspicions already. A processor we're all hoping will be powering their upcoming Galaxy S4 smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus with T-Mobile spotted

Today new images were released of the next generation Samsung Galaxy Tab headed for T-mobile. Though the pictures reveal little of the software on the device, they clearly show a profile of the tablet hardware. Looking a bit different than tablets released from Samsung thus far I must say I'm excited to see more.

What you’re looking at here is the Lifetouch by NEC. It bears a striking resemblance to the Nintendo DS. This will be a 7-inch Android 2.1 tablet that should make its way into the Japanese market this October.

(Rumor) Samsung Galaxy “Tape”: Early Specs Revealed

More news of the latest member of Samsung’s Galaxy family is starting to flow in. this time around a Vietnamese site by the name of Tinh Te, is claiming to have information on a few specs. If they are true this will be a pretty impressive tablet. Samsung has a history of being able to deliver hardware pretty quick so the wait for this slate may not be as long as most.

Yes, it’s that time of day again. It’s time for another Android tablet that we will not see in stores for quite some time. This is a pretty impressive piece of work though. When it does hit, I see a few people snagging this one up.  Malata has introduced a 10-inch tablet, it’s called the SMB-A1011.

While we all wait for the arrival of the official Google TV, we may soon be able to get a taste of what’s to come from these 2 set-top-boxes. Both of them are capable of 3D television and should be available sometime this year. If that’s not enough good news for you, the highest one is expected to retail around $129.

Compal 7 inch Android Tablet Running NVIDIA Tegra 2 – Video

The Compal 7 is an Android tablet that features the famed Tegra 2 chips, it was recently handled at the Netbook Summit here in San Francisco. Is it just me or is the wait for these NVIDIA Tegra 2 tablets following in the footsteps of Flash 10 for Android. It seems like we’ve been waiting on these to arrive for a year now. There have been many prototypes demonstrated with this awesome technology ad yet none of them has hit the streets yet.

Samsung Galaxy S for AT&T leaks?

Technically the name for this device is the Samsung i897. Rumors have it, this is AT&T’s version of Galaxy S. they both share almost identical specs and looks. No launch date has been leaked yet but it looks like it’s really close to production.
