Google Glass gets ClockworkMod Recovery as the hacking continues
When the folks at Mountain View released Google Glass to developers it was quickly discovered that the wearable computing glasses were extremely easy to hack. This wasn't by accident, and Google made no efforts in securing Glass, especially since they are only for developers, for now. Fast forward to today and we have an unofficial ClockworkMod Recovery up and running on Glass.

ClockworkMod Superuser app released as an open-source beta
Koushik Dutta has released his latest app. We suspect many will be familiar with that name, he is associated with ClockworkMod and also recently released Carbon. On Carbon, he is responsible for the backup app, not the Twitter app. We can put that bit aside though because this latest app deals with the ClockworkMod side. The app is called ClockworkMod Superuser and it has been released as beta 0.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7-inch gets clockwork and root
Samsung's newest tablet in the Galaxy Tab 2 has been getting some attention from developers the past couple of weeks. Over the weekend it received root access and now Clockworkmod recovery is also available. Hopefully next on the list is CyanogenMod 9, then we'll be set. Details and links are available after the break.

Sony Xperia S gets ClockworkMod and CyanogenMod 9
Sony's flagship has been available to international users for a few weeks now, but no Android superphone is complete without a port of the most popular custom ROM out there, CyanogenMod. The Xperia S now has CM9 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and ClockworkMod recovery courtesy of the clever devs over at XDA. If you're feeling adventurous and you know your way around a bootloader, give both of them a try.

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G gets root and custom recovery

The Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G has been lighting up T-Mobile's airwaves for about three weeks now, during which its owners were sadly bereft of rooting and ROM flashing options. But as usual, the community comes through: XDA user k0nane gifted Blaze owners with root early this morning, and it was hardly any time at all before fellow member shabbypenguin got a method of getting the venerable ClockworkMod recovery up and running. Neither process is as easy as it is on some devices: you'll be messing with Samsung's proprietary flashing tool Odin to get everything up and running, which is handy, since it's aparently pretty easy to wipe your phone in the process.

Koush's ClockworkMod custom recovery is the de facto standard for Android modders out there, and in the last few months a few devices like the Galaxy Nexus have been given beta versions of ClockworkMod Touch. Today that small number of (official) devices extended by two. The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime and the original Transformer are both officially supported as of now - you can download and install ClockworkMod Touch via the ROM Manager app.

Well folks, that sure was fast. It is available now and will require a few ADB commands but for those interested this is good news.

Android Community Weekly: February 4, 2012
This week in tech news, we see a number of software updates, preparations by companies for the Super Bowl, and even a few official device reviews. Monday, Motorola began to offer a bootloader-unlocked RAZR XT910 'Developer Edition'. It is currently available for €499 ($657), but only in Europe for the time being. ClockworkMod Touch by 'Koush' was released in Beta form early on this week as well. It has had steady updates throughout the week, and it's obvious he wants to implement the new features on as many devices with a strong developmental following as possible.

ClockworkMod Recovery Touch expands to more devices

One of the more exciting developments in the Android mod scene in the last week or so has been ClockworkMod Recovery Touch, a new version of Koushik Dutta's ubiquitous custom recovery software. Initially offered earlier this week, the touchscreen enabled pre-boot environment is now available on more Samsung, HTC and Motorola devices. Initially developed for only the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S. But a recovery system takes a lot less time to modify than a full ROM, so we're seeing the updated software spread out quickly.

Auto-Installer adds ClockworkMod to any current Xperia phone
Rooting and modding Android phones isn't always easy. And even when it is, it cal always be easier. That's the philosophy that drove XDA user "pvyParts" to create Auto-Installer, a simple Android app that adds the ubiquitous ClockworkMod custom recovery software to any Sony Xperia phone made in 2011. What's more, it does so via a sneaky little partition setup that doesn't touch the phone's bootloader - thereby preserving user's manufacturer warranties.
