Motorola prepares Gingerbread update for the Cliq 2 – yes, really

I've got some wonderful news for the eight people that still own a Motorola Cliq 2 on T-Mobile! Your prayers have been answered, and you'll soon be getting an official update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. All it took was 13 months after the Cliq 2's January 2011 release, and a full 14 months after the availability of Gingerbread itself. So.... hooray. If you'd like to get in on the action a little early, you can head over to the official Motorola forum and sign up to beta test the update for the manufacturer. The new software still includes the MOTOBLUR UI layer.

Motorola Cliq 2 Now on Sale Via T-Mobile

Just as expected, the Motorola Cliq 2 has been realsed on the T-Mobile network. The Cliq 2 was one of the first devices shown off by Motorola at its CES 2011 Press Conference but was quickly overlooked by both the ATRIX and BIONIC.

Samsung Vibrant 4G Launching on Feb 23?

According to a screen grab seeming captured from... I dunno, out of thin air? T-Mobile News is showing the release date of the Samsung Vibrant 4G to be February 23, 2011. Furthermore it notes that a Samsung T259 "Sienna" will be released on February 9nd, and the Motorola Cliq 2 will be released tomorrow. Who's excited?! People are getting so excited about the Vibrant 4G that they're making up faked photographs of it just for fun.

With HTC's Android-based hands finding their way onto the Internet before any official announcements, it's time for Motorola's turn. This time around, it's the formerly known Begonia device. Better known now, though, as the Motorola Cliq 2. As anyone should expect, this device is making its way to T-Mobile in the United States some time in 2011, and it's bringing along for the ride a full physical keyboard, and full MOTOBLUR integration.
