BlackBerry in terms of the BBM for Android release. Officially speaking BBM for Android is expected to arrive sometime before the end of the summer. As we can tell from the calendar, that means the app may not be arriving in the Play Store until as late as September 21st. But with that in mind, it does appear as if the beta test group has recently been opened up a bit wider.

There was a brief mention yesterday suggesting BBM would be launching for Android on June 27th, however even that wasn't meet with much in terms of excitement. Hangouts app shortly after the I/O keynote on May 15th and while the device support was listed as being for Android 2.3 or later, there were some limitations to that. One of which was in regards to tablets. Google had put a note in the Play Store description saying that said tablet support would be available soon and it looks like that update has since arrived in the Google Play Store.
Google+ Hangouts were announced earlier this morning during the keynote. At that time Google had said this would be arriving today and true to that statement, the app has since come available in the Google Play Store. The app has arrived as Hangouts and it will replace the Talk app already installed on your device. As we saw earlier, Hangouts is a cross-platform messaging app and allows for text and video chatting.
