Chrome for Android updated with fullscreen browsing and better search

Today the Google Chrome for Android team pushed out a quick update that should make plenty of users happy. The update however, is essentially the same thing we saw a few weeks ago on the BETA version, which makes sense, and brings some much needed and requested features to the popular Android browser. Opera for Android exits beta, we go hands on

Opera launched the WebKit based browser for Android earlier in the year and at the time, the app was sporting a beta tag. Well, flash forward till today and another Opera browser update has arrived for Android users and this time around the browser has ditched the beta tag. Basically, while this release and these features are now ready for prime time, this update should look and feel familiar for those who had been using the beta.

Earlier in the month we saw news from Opera about how they had reached the 300 million user mark. That news came along with details of an updated browser, one that is based on webkit. The folks at Opera had promised that they would be showing it off during Mobile World Congress and as of today -- they have released it for all to enjoy. The browser is available by way of the Google Play Store and is dubbed, Opera browser beta.

Chrome for Android update adds background audio and more

If you happen to have an Android device running Chrome, you may want to head over to the Play Store and grab this latest update. The update is for Chrome 25, specifically for version 25.0.1364.123 and it has brought some new features along with some notable improvements on existing features.

Skyfire acquired by Opera

While there are plenty of alternative browsers available for Android users to pick from, it looks as if two of those have recently gotten together. Coming by way of an Opera issued press release, they have announced the acquisition of Skyfire. Based on details provided, Opera will be looking towards Skyfire's video optimization and smartphone monetization products.
