Today is July 1st and we can look forward to tons and tons of great news in the world of Android this month. Just like the past week, July will also be all about Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. A lot happened in the Android Community last week but we were pretty busy with a small event I'm sure you all heard plenty about -- Google IO 2012. Well, just one day after the announcement of the new iPhone 4S we have some terribly sad news. Today Apple board of directors have now confirmed that Steve Jobs has passed away. It deeply saddens me to have to write this story, Steve will always be remembered for his utterly amazing work and everything he has achieved and accomplished.
Just hitting the wires this morning is the long awaited press invite from Amazon. In what appears to be nothing but an invite and a tease for an upcoming press conference being held by Amazon we can only expect this to be the long awaited and much rumored Android Kindle Tablet.
HTC just sent over a little tip warning us that they have a major announcement they plan to reveal early tomorrow morning, That is August 11th. CEO Peter Chou will be conducting a teleconference in Los Angeles, and that's about all we know. This comes as a surprise because we haven't heard anything as of late or seen anything large leaked that may be announced tomorrow but we have a few ideas running around up stairs.
This evening HTC just came out with some breaking and exciting news we have all been patiently waiting for (well most of us patiently), and that news is some official remarks regarding the timeline for unlocking the bootloader on HTC phones. I can't wait for some CM7 on my Sensation because that is what's coming next for mine. HTC plans to unlock their newest phones first, read on past the break for the full details.
