Switcheroo wants you to take control things using Bluetooth LE

We've seen the emergence of smart houses, where almost all appliances can be controlled by a smartphone. But that would mean buying all new stuff, which will definitely cost a fortune. And also, there are some things lying around which may seem to be "uncontrollable" by any gadget in the market now. But a Kickstarter project called Switcheroo is trying to help you make your house or office smarter with just the help of a small circuit board and your smartphone of course.

Woolet may be the smartest wallet you’ll ever own

If you're the type of person who constantly misplaces your wallet, haven't you ever wished for the ability to ring it up so you could find it? As with a lot of digital "wishes" in our lives, some smart people have thought of developing that kind of tech, and now it's almost a reality. A Kickstarter project called Woolet is probably the "smartest" one in the market and if you play your cards right, you'll never ever lose your wallet again (well, unless you misplace both your wallet and connected smartphone).

Digital tattoo thermometer, smart pacifier unveiled at CES 201

Who says that only adults and older kids can benefit from the continuing evolution of technology and gadgets? At CES 2015, several products were unveiled that highlight how you can use technology to check up on your babies' health. Okay, it's also the parents that will actually be helped by these new products and babies will probably not have much fun using them, but it still is pretty cool to see technology being used for something other than selfies or games (not that those are bad things okay?)

Tile App now available on Android to help forgetful people

The accompanying app that will make it easier for you to locate all these lost gadgets or umbrellas or wallets or handkerchiefs, are now available for your Android smartphones and tablets. Of course it will only work if you have one or more Tile tags so if you don't have it yet, you can still read on and maybe you'll get one afterwards.

Samsung Proximity to take on Apple’s iBeacon technology

It has now become a race as to which proprietary technology will be able to revolutionize the way merchants and businesses interact with our smartphones. After Apple announced their iBeacon in the middle of last year, which they said would simplify payments and offers for retailers, there hasn't been much major development from their end, and many consider it still in the initial infancy stages. Now Samsung has announced they are working with several systems to be able to bring the Proximity Platform to retailers and consumers.

Moto Skip to have Bluetooth connectivity, other functions

A gadget that unlocks your smartphone? Most of us would call that “our fingers” but Motorola believed that having a small and nifty gadget to quickly unlock your Moto X with a tap was something that their users needed. Hence the launch of the Moto X Skip sometime last year. It didn’t really set the market ablaze with its release but it looks like it’s going to get an upgrade of sorts, with Bluetooth connectivity and some other uses rather than just to unlock the phone.

Google’s Project Tango gets a tablet, powered by NVIDIA

Google has just announced their Project Tango 3D imaging smartphone will get a big brother. Moving from experiment to development kit, the Project Tango tablet will be available to a select audience later this year. A sign-up page for the device is active, but it’s likely not one you’ll want to try and snap up.

Are you the type of smartphone owner that loses track of their device? If so, you’ve likely heard of Tile, the little fob that helps to track your device. A similar device named Duet has become available, aiming to help you do the same thing — and for those of you likely reading this, it has one distinct advantage over the competition.
