A new TV advertisement that debuted on Friday, May 8th in China may have surprised those who are eagerly awaiting OPPO’s new smartphone that is rumored to be set for unveiling this month. The TV ad featured not one, but two new OPPO devices in the much hyped OPPO R7 and a surprise device in the OPPO R7 Plus.

OPPO’s bezel-less tech explained; curved glass, refraction in play

We were not really convinced the first time that leaks came out of OPPO’s gorgeous bezel-less wonder in the R7 that it was really without bezel. We were already thinking that it might be structurally impossible to do that. OPPO’s patent application for a refraction-type tech already told us as much. But here’s more fuel to that fire, saying that OPPO is using a curved glass display approach to achieve the “bezel-less” look.

When you think of what a big deal the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and the Galaxy S6 Edge is in terms of display technology, you begin to wonder what limits there are to what sort of screens we will be getting in the near future for mobile devices. The first answer to that question seems to be with the still unreleased OPPO R7. Leaks of the new flagship phone have been touting a bezel-less screen, and new leaks from Weibo confirm that.

Motorola edge-to-edge display smartphone tipped to debut next week

This month we have tons of exciting news coming up. Motorola has more than one announcement coming and we could be seeing an awesome edge-to-edge smartphone with nearly no bezel. With Motorola set to announce two or so new devices Wednesday in New York, then Amazon this looks to be an exciting week. Then next week Motorola has another announcement along with Intel that has the rumor mills churning.
