BBM for Android; how to jump the waiting list

Blackberry finally launched BBM for Android yesterday, though that didn't mean everyone was able to begin chatting immediately. Perhaps in an effort to scale the launch, BlackBerry has released the BBM app, but has users sitting in a waiting list for an invitation to actually begin using it. The reason for a controlled launch makes sense, however we also understand that people are not always keen on waiting.

BBM for Android hands-on

BBM for Android was the subject of numerous leaks and rumors and more recently, an aborted launch attempt. Looking back, BlackBerry was supposed to launch BBM for Android on September 21. The app never arrived, and what was later blamed on an APK leak, the release was officially put on hold. BlackBerry did confirm they were still committed to launching on Android, however talk of the launch seemed to have gone quite.

BlackBerry acquired by Fairfax Financial for $4.7 billion

Say goodbye to Blackberry. Well we can say goodbye officially considering we all have known this was coming for quite some time. Not to mention the earnings report last week showing nearly $1 billion in loss, things weren't looking too good. Just hitting the wires is news that BlackBerry has been acquired by a Canadian Financial company for the tune of $4.7 billion.
