Social gaming now available on your Blackberry Messenger

While Blackberry has taken a huge fall in recent years and has earned a rep for being a poster boy for failing in the age of digital and gadgets, they have been slowly trying to reinvent themselves, focusing more on software technology rather than creating more hardware. Their latest move is to introduce social gaming to BBM users through the BBM Connect Games for Android. PushBullet now lets you reply to BBM and GroupMe as well

PushBullet is shaping up to be one very useful but also somewhat rather odd app. What once started as a simply way to "push" links and files is now slowly but surely becoming a courier as well. Just weeks after it opened the doors to WhatsApp, Hangouts, Facebook and other popular messaging services, now it is welcoming BBM and GroupMe into the family. And like those other apps, you not only get a notification about the message on your computer, you can actually reply to them as well right then and there.

BBM Protected now available for Android users through BBM app

BBM Protected is a product that Blackberry has been offering to enterprises to allow employees to chat without there being any danger of any corporate secrets leaking out, since a lot of messaging apps don't have reliable security. Previously, all the chat participants needed to be on a Blackberry and Blackberry Protect specifically, but now, you can also be on it, even if you are on an Android device.

The OEM has announced they have reached 100 million downloads on the Google Play Store, putting them in the "top tier of messaging apps" in just a little more than a year since they became available for Android smartphones and tablets.

The latest update for their BBM for Android app brings more customizable options as well as support for those who have Android Wear smartwatches.

Still, better late than never.

BBM 2.1 update adds stickers, group photo sharing, more

The latest BBM update brings the app to version 2.1 with new features to include stickers, group image sharing and larger file transfers.
