Deep Sleep Battery Saver puts a new spin on preserving battery life
There's a new app available now on the Google Play Store that will help you conserve and save that precious battery life. We all know our smartphones don't last as long as we'd like, so why not try to save a little at night. There's plenty of "battery saver" apps available -- but none are like Deep Sleep Battery Saver. Their motto is "reclaim your battery" so lets take a look at why it's so special.

Department of Energy program to make batteries more powerful, less expensive
When you're shopping around for a new phone or tablet, battery life is one of the most important bullet points you can look at. After all, you can have the best equipment running beneath a beautiful screen, but if the battery life is poor, those top-of-the-line components aren't going to do you much good. The Department of Energy has decided it's time to come up with new batteries that are not only more powerful, but less expensive as well.

DROID RAZR MAXX ultimate battery test: 3-day business trip with no charger
Battery life is a problem for all mobile electronics, and Android is no exception. If there's one thing holding the platform back from a hardware perspective, it's the inability for high-powered Android phones to last through a full day without additional charges. There is one exception: the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX. With its massive 3300mAh battery impressively kept in a housing thinner than 9mm, it's nothing less than the best combination of power, longevity and high-end components of any phone on the market.

Motorola DROID Bionic Battery Life Photos Leak, Looks Decent
Since we still have not seen the actual size of the battery that will come in the Droid Bionic, or how long it will actually last this will do. Someone has been nice enough to leak more than a few photos showing the Bionic on both 4G LTE and 3G at different levels of battery life. While these first pictures look good, they are a little deceiving to say the least.

[How To] McGyver Your Android’s Battery
Before we begin, remember that the first person to do this was a fellow by the name of Sorensiim, aka the McGyver of Android, so don't be surprised if you can't do it on the first try or you end up making your device explode into a ball of fire all over your face. WATCH OUT because not only is this a hardware hack, it's dealing with live wires which can give you a bit of a zap. Now that we've got that out of the way, lets talk about what Sorensiim did. It began when he was installing a System Recovery app - he clicked the recovery boot button and found that once booting, he got a message that said "Battery low - cannot program." This is what he did.

Motorola Shadow battery spotted, more benchmark scores and its not running 2.2 but “Ninja Blur”?
For now let’s just take this a few grains of salt. The latest benchmark of the upcoming Motorola Shadow suggests that if it had Android 2.2 it would be twice as fast as the Nexus One. Is this possible? I would say no but anything could happen. The most shocking part of this story is the Shadow in the test is not running Android 2.2 but a new version of MotoBlur called NinjaBlur.
