AT&T HD Voice service launching in select markets on May 23

AT&T will be flipping the switch for High Definition (HD) Voice service a bit later in the month. The service will go live in select markets beginning on May 23, 2014 and be on an all-IP Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) network. The markets will be spread across Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The HTC One (M8) is one of the better Android devices we’ve seen in a long time, but it was missing one key feature. The Extreme Power Saving mode, bragged-up on launch, was absent from US variants of the device. Promising to include it shortly, HTC has made good on their word, and those with an AT&T HTC One (M8) are starting to see it via an update.

AT&T planning in-flight WiFi LTE service

If you’ve ever used WiFi on an airplane, you know it’s terribly slow. Convenient in that you can send an email or other quick message from 35,000 feet in the air, but it’s dreadfully slow should you try to do anything even remotely in-depth. AT&T is trying to end that headache of convenience with in flight LTE service, they’ve announced.

AT&T’s HTC One (M8) can’t redeem free Drive storage

Owners of the new HTC One (M8) on AT&T have hit a snag when it comes to the free Drive storage. Each new handset arrives with 50GB of Google Drive storage, which users are prompted to take advantage of just after startup. Those with AT&T aren’t able to, which HTC notes is a bug they’re working on.
