AT&T had previously announced they had a goal of bringing 4G LTE to more than 270 million people by the end of the year. While we have yet to get a number update since that goal was announced, the carrier has been making some progress. We saw coverage expanded across nine states earlier in the month and today we have word of coverage coming to an additional 13 markets.
AT&T cleared the 400 market milestone earlier in the month and it looks like they have recently flipped the 4G LTE switch for a handful of new markets. And in addition to some new coverage, AT&T also detailed some expansions for previously covered markets. The new coverage deals with Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Texas and Washington and the expansions deal with Georgia and Minnesota.
now has 4G LTE service available for more than 180 million people across 154 markets. And while that is a nice step up for T-Mobile (as compared to their previous status update), it also looks like AT&T has continued making progress towards their end-of-year goals. In fact, AT&T now has 4G LTE available in 400 markets.
AT&T has come forward with details on the latest 4G LTE expansions. This time around we are seeing several new markets that have gone live this week. In total, new AT&T 4G LTE coverage is coming to 14 markets across 10 states. Those states include Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Utah.

Instead this time around they are getting a look at the markets that will be getting coverage throughout the remainder of the year. And in addition, AT&T also provided a status update in terms of where things stand at the moment.

For the most part this latest LTE expansion includes one market per state, but regardless, it does mean faster speeds.

This time around the good news comes for those in select markets in California, Colorado, Idado, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oregon, Texas and Virginia.
AT&T have something up their sleeve for later this month, and they've just started sending out press invites and teaser images telling us to "get ready for what's next in wireless."
