Android 4.1 Jelly Bean now available for AT&T Motorola ATRIX HD users

We had been expecting the Motorola ATRIX HD to get Jelly Bean sooner rather than later. In fact, Motorola had previously said that it would be available for those in the US beginning this month. And well, it looks the update has arrived. The news comes by way of AT&T who note rather simply that the update is available today.

Ever since Motorola announced that it plans to update a lot of its more recent devices to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, many customers have been waiting for patiently for their upgrade to arrive. Some handsets, such as the DROID RAZR M, the DROID RAZR HD, and the DROID RAZR MAXX HD have already received or are in the process of receiving their updates, but there are plenty more handsets left to upgrade. Motorola has updated its list of devices getting Jelly Bean upgrades, covering most major regions of the world like the US, Canada, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and Latin America.

Motorola Atrix HD Developer Edition on the way

Lately, we've been seeing Motorola offering Developer Editions of its various handsets. The DROID RAZR M, RAZR HD, and Photon Q came first, and now it's time for the Atrix HD's moment in the spotlight. The Atrix HD Developer Edition has popped up on Motorola's website, which means that it shouldn't be too much longer before it'll be available for purchase.

If you're up in Canada and feel like dropping a quick $50 on a new smartphone Bell has you covered. Announcing the Atrix HD LTE is available now starting at $49, only with a new 3-year contract.

Motorola backtracks, no new phone coming Friday

The little game Motorola started yesterday appears to be going south already. After announcing a mystery 4G LTE smartphone would be unveiled on Friday, they've now backtracked on that to clarify that it won't be a "new" phone, but they will unveil something after all the clues are figured out. So those expecting to see a new device, sorry for the bad news.

We recently saw a large collection of leaked pictures of a new Motorola phone headed to AT&T. It is believed to be the Motorola Atrix HD or maybe just the Atrix 2. The screen has some curved glass and is larger than the original Atrix. Now we are hearing even more details on this device that sound quite nice.
