Huawei is taking on the bigger than usual phablet market like the Galaxy Note II, and Samsung's rumored Galaxy Note III. Their new 6.1-inch Ascend Mate smartphone was shown off at CES, and now we have some official pricing details. Huawei will be offering this handset at $575 contract-free and unlocked.
Huawei had a pretty impressive showing this year at CES. We were live at their press conference where they unveiled two new exciting flagship smartphones. The first being a 6.1-inch Ascend Mate phablet, as well as a few others. Today however new details are surfacing that later this year they'll be taking on Samsung and others with some next-gen smartphones.
Huawei press event is currently underway and we managed to steal a few moments with the Ascend Mate before things got underway. The handset, as had been rumored -- is massive. The Ascend Mate does in fact have the 6.1-inch display, however that is not where the massive stops. We could also describe the battery as rather large as it comes in at 4050 mAh.
