Arnova G4 tablet unveiled with 9.7-inch display and Jelly Bean
The first of the 4th generation Arnova tablets have been unveiled and while we have yet to see all the specifics, the company has offered up a full set of specs for the tablet. We are expecting to see multiple devices in the Arnova G4 lineup, but for now there is only details on the Arnova 97 G4. As the name would imply, this one will arrive sporting a 9.7-inch display.

The resurgence of Alvin and the Chipmunks is baffling. It's always been a bit of a cringe-inducing franchise, but the trio of CG-live action movies has been grade-A adult repellent for five years now. Even so, kids seem to love them - to the tune of about 1.1 billion dollars international gross across three movies. This being the case, it's hard to blame Archos for wanting to get in on the action with their new ARNOVA Child Pad, which ties into the home video release of Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked. Sigh.

Most of Archos' tablets have a definite media focus, with a ton of customized software and options for large hard drives. Their Arnova line is meant to fulfill a more basic need with a generally lower price. Like their more expensive stablemates, the Arnova line is getting an Ice Cream Sandwich update with some revised hardware. ArcTablet spotted Archos' updated website detailing the new tablets.

Honeycomb may be all the rage with Archos' top of the line tablets, but they never miss an opportunity to make good with the low end as well. Behold the Arnova 9 G2, a Gingerbread 9.7-inch affair with tablet-friendly modifications to Android. Even so, the tablet packs in some respectable hardware with a 1Ghz ARM processor and 8 gigabytes of built-in storage.
